Things continue to be very busy at BASK: Over the summer we have increased our capacity to 50 children with the Care Inspectorate.
ADHOC spaces- If you require an ad-hoc space at BASK or have any enquiries, please contact us on the staff phone 07984149544 at any time.

Google reviews
We would be grateful if you can find time to go onto google and leave BASK a review, it would be great to be able to share the excellent survey results in public.
Activities
As always, there have been many things happening at BASK: plenty of art and craft, and loads of free playtime which the children love. Free play encourages great social interaction and personal development. Lego continues to be very popular and so are the giant Jenga blocks, which are the preferred building material for megaforts and castles rather than playing Jenga! Circle time will be on once every week; we use this time to gather information from the children about what new activities they would like to see at BASK and to receive new snack suggestions.
Dates for Diary
Our Halloween Party will be on 31st October between 3-6pm. It would be great to see as many children dressed up as possible. If you dont normally come on a Monday and want to attend as an adhoc please text or email for a space.
Lost Property
We have quite a few items of lost property, can we ask if you are missing anything let us know and we can look through the box. It would be really helpful if everything is labelled- makes life easier to find things.
BASKS Summer Club
Our Summer club was a great success this year, the children had a great time with trips to Blair Drummond Safari Park, Glasgow Science Centre, Annie McLeod experience in New Lanark, Finlaystone and Kelburn Country Parks as well as to the cinema and softplay days out.
Outside Play
Now that the weather is turning slightly wetter please ensure your child/ren have suitable outdoor clothing and footwear when they come to BASK. The Wild Woods area is very popular and great fun but it can be a bit mucky underfoot sometimes; children will only be allowed in this area with appropriate footwear.
Holiday Clubs
We have recently had a meeting with the local council about us being able to run holiday clubs from 2023 onwards in suitable premises during the school holidays. Watch out for a survey coming concerning this should discussions progress the way we want them to.
Old T-Shirts
For the older children P5 UPWARDS can you send in an old T shirts please that the children can wear during crafting and painting activities to keep their uniforms clean.
Trips Out
When we can, in the afternoons we are planning to take children in groups to the park, the woods and also the local library to give them a change of scenery.
Parent Forum
Previously we discussed a parent forum. If you would be interested in being part of this please email to bask730936@gmail.com
Expansion
In August BASK opened a new facility in Wemyss Bay Primary, we have 2 new staff members working their Gillian and Jennifer and the children may see them in Kilmacolm from time to time as we bring them in to experience a larger environment.
Social Media
We have a Facebook Page, ‘Bask in St Columba’s School Kilmacolm,’, both of which are private and protected groups and only accessible to BASK approved members. If your child attends BASK you can request to join our groups and we will add you; the groups are both great ways of keeping up with what we are doing at BASK. We also have a new website up and running ‘www.baskchildcare.co.uk we would appreciate if you could leave us a review. Unfortunately we don’t use Twitter anymore as it’s an extra thing to update and often gets missed.
BASK Opening Times
The school doors open in the morning at 7.30am and close at 6.00pm in the evening. We do appreciate that sometimes parents can be held up at the end of the day due to unforeseen circumstances and we would ask that you let us know if you are running late, if possible. If we have not heard from you by 6.10pm, the staff will start phoning round to find out what has happened and who will be collecting children using the contact details and emergency contacts that you have provided in the children’s files.
As always, please do not hesitate to speak to me if I can help you in any way whilst your child/ren are with BASK- for any enquiries about spaces or information about the service please contact me on 07984149544 or Baskcardow@gmail.com. Any financial enquiries can be sent to bask73093@gmail.com
