Survey

We recently carried out a survey and I’m pleased to hear that the results were so positive, survey results attached.

25 repsonses – 4.72 average rating

25 responses – 4.44 average rating

25 responses – 4.80 average rating

11 responses:

  • More plain popcorn please! (or salted)

  • Can’t think of anything right now

  • Maybe try some new snacks?

  • More dolls – although I could give you the ones from home that we never touch!

  • Adding things to Twitter as don’t access Facebook And send any newsletters to email addresses would be good

  • I don’t think there is anything you can improve on. You always ask for the Children’s input.

  • My child is delighted with pizza and hot dogs for snack. I’d prefer healthier options. What about having questions on parental satisfaction

  • The only reason I’ve not given 5 stars for happiness is due to lack of other children in the same year group as my child attending bask on the same days and that’s just down to luck!

  • Nothing, I think the service you provide is exceptional!

  • No ….my girls love it and I get told off if I collect too early!

  • Snack choices seem to be increasingly unhealthy although fruit also available. Would be useful to provide parents with a weekly/4 weekly snack plan.

My child loves being at BASK. Great range of activities and great staff. Re summer, the survey would only let me select one week but we’d be interest in all 4 weeks from 11th.

Staff are amazing!

Survey

From the survey results we realised that there needed to be a change in the snacks offered so after Easter we introduced a much more healthy snack choice and the children love it. We also have funky fruit where we add a new fruit each week into the fruit bowl.

Google Reviews

We would be grateful if you can find time to go onto google and leave BASK a review, it would be great to be able to share the excellent survey results in public.

Activities

As always, there have been many things happening at BASK: plenty of art and craft,  and loads of free playtime which the children love.  Free play encourages great social interaction and personal development.  Lego continues to be very popular and so are the giant Jenga blocks, which are the preferred building material for megaforts and castles rather than playing Jenga! Circle time will be on once every week; we use this time to gather information from the children about what new activities they would like to see at BASK and to receive new snack suggestions.

BASK 10 Year Birthday Party

A milestone was reached at Easter when BASK turned 10 yrs old, to celebrate we had a great fun day on Friday 22nd April for the children where we had 2 bouncy castles, a magician, Burger van, Ice Cream van and individual birthday cupcakes for all children.

A big thank you to the school and especially the staff for making it such an excellent fun filled afternoon for the children.

Dates for Diary

The last day for school will be 28th June, please note BASK will only be running in the morning that day as the school is to close at 1pm.

BASK's Summer Club

This year we are able to open summer club again but can only accommodate the first 2 weeks in August, running from 8am to 6pm. For more information or to book a place please email bask730936@gmail.com.

Outside Play

We are back outside as much as possible.  Please ensure your child/ren have suitable outdoor clothing and footwear when they come to BASK.  The Wild Woods area is very popular and great fun but it can be a bit mucky underfoot sometimes; children will only be allowed in this area with appropriate footwear.

Applications for The New School Year 22/23

Soon we will be sending out the applications for next school year 22/23 and as always existing parents will have first choice in booking places.

PLEASE note we have a waiting list for next year for new children to attend BASK so it is imperative that you get your booking back prior to the date shown on the booking forms to avoid disappointment.

Financial Support

Support to pay for childcare through universal credit and the Tax-free childcare system can be used

If you are working you can cover 20% of childcare costs through the Tax-free childcare system- for further information visit  https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare

For Universal Credit go to https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/universal-credit

Application Forms

We understand that filling in forms is not every ones favourite activity but we have to do all do it.

After parent feedback we have condensed these forms for new starts to save duplication and have again reduced these down for returning parents to make form filling easier.

We are required by the Care Inspectorate to have these completed and therefore must do so, so apologies if you are chased for paperwork to be returned but we really need them all returned.

Payments

A polite reminder that all payments are due in on the 1st of each month for your child’s sessions at BASK- if you require our bank details to set up a standing order please contact us and we will send these to you. If you have booked a ADHOC space with us you will receive a text on the 28th of each month with the amount owed- it would be greatly appreciated if this balance could be paid by return- if you have any financial queries please contact us on this email address- bask730936@gmail.com.

Social Media

We have a Facebook Page, ‘Bask in St Columba’s School Kilmacolm,’, both of which are private and protected groups and only accessible to BASK approved members.  If your child attends BASK you can request to join our groups and we will add you; the groups are both great ways of keeping up with what we are doing at BASK. We also have a new website up and running ‘www.baskchildcare.co.uk we would appreciate if you could leave us a review. Unfortunately we don’t use Twitter anymore as it’s an extra thing to update and often gets missed.

BASK Opening Times

The school doors open in the morning at 7.30am and close at 6.00pm in the evening.  We do appreciate that sometimes parents can be held up at the end of the day due to unforeseen circumstances and we would ask that you let us know if you are running late, if possible.  If we have not heard from you by 6.10pm, the staff will start phoning round to find out what has happened and who will be collecting children using the contact details and emergency contacts that you have provided in the children’s files.

As always, please do not hesitate to speak to me if I can help you in any way whilst your child/ren are with BASK- for any enquiries about spaces or information about the service please contact me on 07984149544 or Baskcardow@gmail.com. Any financial enquiries can be sent to bask73093@gmail.com.
