We are recruiting for a Childcare Practitioner in our Newark Primary School, Port Glasgow location.
Job Details
- To prepare and carry out daily activities keeping the children engaged and entertained
- Have the ability to remain calm and patient and have a kind and caring manner with children
- To use your own initiative to develop the club’s provision
- Have an understanding of childcare legislation, legal requirements and CI standards
- Have an understanding of and ability to implement GIRFEC/SHANARRI
- Be aware of and implement on a daily basis the Cares Standards and SSSC Codes of Practise for Childcare settings
- An ability to act professionally with parents/ carers, school staff and other team members
- A fun/ positive personality who enjoys working with children

- Helping the club to grow in popularity by providing children with a relaxed and enjoyable after school experience
- Plan and implement suitable activities for the children
- Take guidance where necessary from Management Team
- Perform duties to a high standard
- To attend training as and when necessary
- Prepare and manage snacks for the children
- Maintain records and files as appropriate
- Take part in review and progress meetings on a regular basis
- Support each other and work as a team
Qualifications
The candidate must have an SCQF Level 6 in Childcare
Job Timings
- Monday to Thursday from 3-6pm during term time
- Holiday clubs for full weeks during Easter, Summer and October.
Job Perks
- Pay rate £12.06 per hour, spread evenly throughout the calendar year.
